Synopsis of Hidden Agenda

In Northern Ireland in the early 1980s, a group organized by the Civil Liberties Union, including American lawyer Paul and his fiancée Ingrid, came to Belfast to investigate whether any violations of civil rights had occurred there. At the press conference, Theresa provided vivid evidence of the British government’s “shoot to kill policy”. Harris secretly slipped Paul a tape. Paul went to meet Harris in a car driven by Molloy, but was intercepted on the way and the two men were shot to death. British CID Inspector Kerrigan investigates the case. Ingrid discovered the empty tape box from Paul's belongings and took the initiative to serve as Kerrigan's assistant. Mrs. Molloy's house had been searched and all the boxes containing her husband's tapes had been moved. At Molloy's house, Ingrid recognized Harris from the photo - it turned out that he was a member of the Special Branch of the police station. Through Theresa, they met Harris. It turns out that the tape is evidence of a conspiracy against high-ranking British figures - and the instigator of the conspiracy is the CIA.
