Synopsis of Bridgend

In order to thoroughly investigate the serial suicides of teenagers in the small town of "Bridgend" in Wales, a police detective and his daughter Sara moved to this town shrouded in gloom. Sara, who has a simple and curious personality, decided to personally walk into a small group of local young people and participate in the dark rituals they held for their friends who committed suicide to understand the mysterious cause and effect of the cult's cohesion. At first, she was afraid of this group's weird behavioral norms, but she unknowingly fell in love with one of its members, Jamie, and found connection and resonance here. An unspeakable force crosses the boundary, and the originally mutually dependent father-daughter relationship begins to deteriorate, gradually swallowing up the girl's mind. Adapted from a real event that happened in Wells in 2007, Danish director Jeppe Rønde spent nearly 6 years on research and made the result his first feature film, using a gloomy and gothic atmosphere to explore a closed town. Suspicion of suicide. The film just received good reviews at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, and won the Best Cinematography and Best Editing in the Drama Category. Hannah Murray, whose fresh performance in "Love Song" challenged dark themes, won the Actress in Drama category award.
