Synopsis of Gayby
Fan girl Jennifer (Jenn Harris) and gay Matt (Matthew Wilkas) have been good friends since college. The two are already in their early thirties and are still single in New York, and their dating record is appalling. Matt, who runs a comic book store, has been vacant after breaking up with his boyfriend of six years, while Jennifer, a yoga instructor, is unable to maintain a long-term relationship. The leftover woman and the otaku decided to consider the agreement they made in college: to have and raise a child together. Out of distrust of doctors, they decided to use "traditional methods" to create the child, which resulted in chaos... The film is adapted from the director's short film of the same name and was nominated for the 2013 American Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay.
