Synopsis of Mural

In an ancient temple deep in the mountains, Zhu Xiaolian (played by Deng Chao), a scholar who went to Beijing to take the exam, was brought to the fairyland in the painting by a fairy Peony (played by Zheng Shuang) who fell from the mural. In the strange fairyland, many fairies live a free and happy life under the management of their aunt (played by Yan Ni), but they are not allowed to have feelings for men, and they are not merciless to men who break into the fairyland privately. In the fairyland, Zhu Xiaolian met the fairy Shaoyao (played by Sun Li). With the help of Shaoyao, Zhu Xiaolian escaped the danger of being discovered by his aunt and returned to the world smoothly. However, due to concerns about Peony's safety, at Zhu Xiaolian's request, the master of the ancient temple (Eric Tsang) helped Zhu Xiaolian return to fairyland. However, there was still singing and dancing in the fairyland, but Zhu Xiaolian could not find the figure of the fairy Peony... This film is based on "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" and is directed by director Chen Jiashang. Deng Chao and Sun Li collaborated on the big screen for the first time.
