Nineteen Eighty-Four

Nineteen Eighty-Four

Synopsis of Nineteen Eighty-Four

This is a fictional political horror movie. In 1984, after a series of wars and mergers, there were only three superpowers left in the world - Oceania, Eastasia and Eurasia. Winston (played by John Hurt) lives in Oceania under the rule of Big Brother. Here, like the other two countries, telescreens (a TV-like monitor) are installed everywhere, and everyone lives in Oceania. All under the watchful eye of the Party's ideological police, history is rewritten every day exactly according to the needs of the Party. Although he cannot explain why, as a member of the outer party, Winston hates Big Brother from the bottom of his heart. One day, he secretly bought a diary from an old grocery store - in principle, the party did not allow diaries to be written to express personal thoughts - and started writing a diary. When he and Julia (Suzanna Hamilton), who works in the Novel Department, violated party policy and began a secret affair, the Thought Police quietly focused on him.
