Synopsis of Six Feet Under Season 1
Despite the merger and acquisition monopoly in the U.S. funeral industry, the Fisher family still strives to make a living by maintaining family-style services. Although the founder's father, Nathaniel, is no longer alive, his image often appears in the family's fantasies, and the remaining family business is managed by the remaining four members of the family. The eldest Nate (Peter Krause) has been trying to balance the funeral business and his family role as a new father; the second eldest brother David (Michael C. Hall) lives outside with his extremely emotional homosexual partner. In addition to being mainly responsible for the family business, he also works for the church; the youngest daughter Claire (played by Lauren Ambrose) is a troubled youth, rich in artistic talent and in energetic adolescence; the mother Ruth (played by Frances Conroe) Frances Conroy (played by Frances Conroy) hopes to get closer to her children and grandchildren.
