Synopsis of The Selfish Giant

"The Selfish Giant" tells a contemporary fable between 13-year-old Arbor and his best friend Swifty. The two boys are ostracized by others in their school and community, and later meet Kitten, a "selfish giant" who is a local scrap dealer. So they started driving a horse-drawn carriage to help him collect discarded metal. Swift is naturally good at dealing with horses, but Abel imitates the behavior of "kitten", hoping very much to impress "kitten" and make another fortune. But "Kitten" liked Swift more, which made Abel feel hurt and excluded, and cracks appeared in the relationship between the two boys. Abel becomes more and more greedy, more exploitative of others, and more and more like a "kitten". As the relationship between the three becomes increasingly tense, tragedy strikes that changes their fate forever.
