Synopsis of Battlefield Army Spirit

During World War II, a group of American prisoners of war were imprisoned in a German prison. The story took place in Prison No. 17 (Stalag 17). Two prisoners tried to escape, but were killed by the Germans. The prisoners in the prison began to suspect that one of them had betrayed them. Everyone focused their suspicion on one person-the cunning Sefton (William Holden). Although Sefton was also a prisoner, he made a lot of money by organizing "horse races", selling liquor and renting out binoculars. Soon, an American lieutenant Dunbar (Don Taylor) was arrested and imprisoned. He caused a bombing at the Frankfurt train station that killed many German soldiers. However, the incident was immediately learned by the German officer Oberst von Scherbach (Otto Preminger). Sefton was believed to be the traitor who leaked the information and was beaten.
