Synopsis of Cell 211

The new prison guard Juan (played by Alberto Ammann) went to prison one day early to experience work in order to show his good professional style. On this day, the prisoner leader "Evil Mother" injured the prison guard and led the prisoners to riot. The prison fell into chaos... Juan was abandoned by his companions in cell 211 because of his injuries. In order to avoid being taken as a hostage by the prisoners, he had to disguise himself. The criminal seeks the trust of the evil mother and tries to find an opportunity to escape. The prisoners used the three "ETA" terrorists in the prison who had served more than 100 years in prison to threaten the government's agreement to negotiate with them. Because the government and ETA had an agreement in advance, the prison authorities and the special operations group were unable to attack by force. This resulted in a stalemate. On the other hand, the prison riot caused a chain reaction after being reported by the media. Family members came to the prison to inquire about the news, but were severely beaten by the prison guards. Unfortunately, Juan's pregnant wife was injured. This made Ben want to ensure his escape and assist the prison. Juan, who was trying to calm down the incident, made a crazy move... The film swept eight major awards including Best Film, Director and Actor at the 2009 Spanish Goya Awards.
