Synopsis of American History X

Derek (Edward Norton)'s father was shot and killed by a black drug dealer when he was a child, and the seeds of hatred were sown in his young heart. It turns out that Derek is very good at his homework and is a good student in the eyes of the teacher. But since his father was killed, he has focused all his efforts on dealing with people of color. He actively organized a group of white youths to fight against people of color everywhere. Once, he shot two black men and was imprisoned. After being imprisoned, Derek joined a group of white neo-Nazis. Later, he became friends with a black man through work, and he began to reflect on his past. When he tried to break away from the neo-Nazi group in prison, he was beaten and kicked. After Derek was released from prison, he decided to break away from the gang he organized before and took his brother away to start a new life.
