Synopsis of The Informant!

This film is adapted from real events. Mark Whitaker (Matt Damon), a nutritional biochemist, is the vice president of AMD in Decatur, Illinois, USA. The new lysine product trials he led continued to fail, and Mark reported that a Japanese competitor directed an AMD employee to maliciously poison the product. The company reported the incident to the FBI, which began monitoring Mark's phone calls. The frightened Mark was worried that his illegal behavior of assisting the company in joining forces with global lysine manufacturers to interfere with free competition and raise market prices would be exposed. Under the persuasion of his wife Jin Ji (Melanie Lynskey), he took the initiative to report to the FBI Revealing the company’s price limit for lysine. With the assistance of FBI agents Brian (Scott Bakula) and Robert (Joel McHale), Mark became an FBI informant and began to collect criminal evidence about the company. But no one expected that while Mark was exposing AMD's illegal price-limiting practices, he would also conceal a series of ulterior secrets... The film won gold...
