Synopsis of The Pledge

Jerry (Jack Nicholson) is a shrewd and capable police officer. During his tenure, a very abominable murder of a young girl shocked the entire industry. Under the strong pleading of the dead girl's mother, Jerry worked overtime to track down various clues in the case, and finally arrested the suspect named Toby (Benicio Del Toro) before closing the case. In the end, Toby was found guilty and jailed. Although the case seemed to be over, Jerry always felt that something was wrong in his heart. He came to a small town in Nevada where the crime occurred, bought a gas station on the roadside, and stationed here to continue looking for clues. . In the process, he met the single mother Lori (Robin Wright) and her daughter.
