Synopsis of Those Who Work
The new film by new French director Antoine Husbach is the first of his Social Stages trilogy. It tells the story of an unemployed middle-aged man who cannot find a job and is gradually depressed to the point of wanting to commit suicide. He reaches rock bottom. . The script and overall narrative pacing are excellent, playing like a cross between Stephen Busey and the Dardenne brothers on a dramatic and thematic level.
