Synopsis of Mother of Mine

The movie "My Mother" is adapted from the novel of the same name by Finnish writer Heki Hietames. The background of this film is the early days of World War II. During the war between Finland and Russia, about 70,000 children were sent to the neutral country of Sweden, waiting for their return after peace. The little boy in the story evolved into having two mothers and two homes because he was sent to another country, but he didn't know which one was his real home. However, he refused to accept his new family and waited for a letter from his biological mother every day. Later, his biological mother had another relationship, and his adoptive mother did not accept him at first... until the adoptive mother understood and took care of the little boy, the boy also regarded the adoptive mother as his biological mother. Unfortunately, when the war ends, the boy needs to return to Finland and be separated from his mother again... According to Finnish historical records, during World War II, more than 70,000 Finnish children were sent to neutral neighboring Sweden to escape the scourge of war. After the war, most of these children returned to Finland, but nearly 15,000 stayed in Sweden and continued to live with their adoptive parents. The director of the film, Klaus Haro, said that he had wanted to make a film about the story of child immigrants in Finland during the war for a long time. At the 29th Cairo International Film Festival, the film won the Best Film Award, Harrow...
