Sissi: The Young Empress Sissi - Die junge Kaiserin

Synopsis of Sissi: The Young Empress

After the grand royal wedding in Vienna, Sissi (Romy Schneider) begins the life of a queen. She slowly adjusted herself to adapt to Austrian court life, but she found it very difficult to get along with the Queen Mother Sophie (Magda Schneider). The domineering Empress Dowager adheres to the royal rules and customs, and constantly instills in Franz (Karlheinz Böhm) how to abide by royal regulations to run the empire and family. After Sissi's daughter was born, the conflict between her and Sophie further intensified. In accordance with royal rules, Sophie did not allow Sissi to raise her daughter by herself, but Franz actually obeyed her mother's wishes and made it impossible for Sissi and her daughter to be together. Sad and disappointed, Sissi returned to Bavaria alone. Feeling guilty, Franz immediately followed and persuaded Sissi to return to Austria with him. At this time, Sophie had to change her mind and agreed to Sissi raising her daughter. After that, Sissi accompanied Franz to visit many countries. She received a warm welcome in Hungary, and they were crowned king and queen of the Austro-Hungarian Empire amidst the cheers of the Hungarian people. The film won the 10th place...
