Synopsis of The Red Shoes
Peggy (Moira Shearer) is a very talented ballet dancer. Her love for ballet makes her feel that she was born to dance. She participated in the performance of the ballet "Red Ling Yan", in which she played the role of a dancer who puts on red shoes and dances until she dies. Her performance won unanimous praise from the industry, and her acting career skyrocketed. After that, she met the composer Julian (Marius Goring) and quickly fell in love. Peggy gave up her career for the one she loved, but the quiet life after marriage was unbearable. There seemed to be a magic calling her to put on her dancing shoes and dance. Peggy listened to her inner call. She left Julian and returned to the stage. But gradually, she remembered the dancer in red shoes she had played. She felt that their figures were slowly overlapping, and Peggy felt uneasy. Gee suddenly realizes that the most important thing in her life is not dance but family. She rushes out of the theater to regain Julian's love, but a train falls from the sky and ends her young life. The film won the 1949 Oscar for Best Supporting...
