Synopsis of As Tears Go By

Ajie (Andy Lau), a gangster in Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong, works neatly, values loyalty, and has a boss-like demeanor. In order to take care of his impulsive and face-saving younger brother Wu Ying (Jacky Cheung), he keeps dealing with all kinds of troubles, even at the expense of Wu Ying becomes enemies with a ruthless gangster (Wan Ziliang). Ajie's cousin A'e (Maggie Cheung) came to Mong Kok for medical treatment and stayed at his house temporarily. The two gradually fell in love with each other, but because he was worried that his identity would eventually bring harm to A'e, Ajie chose to bury his feelings. When Ajie understands that the true feelings cannot be suppressed and wants to resist fate, Wuying once again faces life danger because of his good face, so a difficult problem of friendship and love must be chosen is once again placed in front of Ajie.
