Synopsis of Basic

Nathan West (Samuel L. Jackson) is a devil instructor at a U.S. military training base who is known for his severity. His ruthlessness has always made the relationship between him and his students very tense. Tom Hardy (played by John Travolta), a former disciple who is also resentful of West, is now an official of the U.S. Drug Administration. The two are connected by a mysterious disappearance. This bizarre disappearance occurred in the Panamanian jungle, causing six trainees and West to disappear without a trace after the hurricane. Hardy was ordered to investigate the matter jointly with military investigation officer Lieutenant Julia (Connie Nielsen). However, as the investigation unfolds, the confessions of the only two remaining survivors, trainees Danba (Brian Van Holt) and Kendall (Giovanni Ribisi), are completely different. More and more lies and deceptions gradually surface. Who is lying, and what are the terrible facts behind the truth?
