Synopsis of Kiss the Ground

Kissing the Ground (short for short) is a documentary that explores the first feasible, low-cost way to reverse climate change (drum roll). . . soil. If done right, soil (also known as "dirt") has the potential to sequester much of the carbon dioxide humans emit into the atmosphere. There's just one problem: Our modern, industrial, monocrop-based agriculture is killing the microorganisms in the soil that do the carbon sequestration ("biosequestration"). But there is hope. An activist group of scientists, farmers, ranchers, activists and government agencies is joining forces to launch a global movement for a new kind of agriculture it calls "regenerative agriculture" that increases soil life, storage water and sequestered carbon dioxide. These people come from diverse backgrounds, but they share a common commitment – to heal the world’s soil before it’s too late. Kissing the Ground is the story of a powerful solution to one of humanity's greatest challenges.
