Synopsis of Gangs of New York

In New York more than a century ago, corrupt politicians used shady and dirty methods to compete for the city's official leadership; and in the Fifth Ward, Bowery District, and Paradise Square areas of Manhattan Island, the Irish immigrant gang organizations "Dead Rabbit Party" and The "Local Party" blatantly used force to compete for territory and everything they could possess... "Gangs of New York" poster. The party's leader, Bill "The Butcher" Poole (Daniel Day-Lewis), was killed, and the deceased's young son, Amsterdam Willen (Leonardo DiCaprio), succeeded him as leader.
