Synopsis of Road to Perdition

Michael (played by Tom Hanks) is the adopted son of Rooney, a gangster in Chicago, USA. He has always been Rooney's right-hand man - the gang's feared killer "Angel of Death". Although Michael kills without blinking an eye, in reality he is a gentle, good husband and father who does not smoke or drink. His two sons never knew their father's occupation until the eldest son, Michael, was 12 years old. One day he sneaked into his father's car and decided to find out what his father's occupation was. Little Michael witnessed a murder, and his behavior was also known to the gang. The gang was afraid that he would leak the news, but Michael promised that he would not leak the news on the grounds that "he is my son." However, Michael's wife and his young son were mistakenly killed by the gang, whose original target was him and little Michael. The father and son began their journey of exile and revenge!
