Synopsis of The Legend

Fang Shiyu (played by Jet Li) was originally a dandy in the city, who loved to fight against injustice. One day, he heard that Lei Hu, a wealthy man from other provinces, had set up an arena to compete in martial arts to recruit brides. He also heard that Miss Lei was as beautiful as a flower, so he went to compete in martial arts to recruit brides. When Fang Shiyu was about to win against his future mother-in-law Li Xiaohuan, a gust of wind blew up the hijab of the young lady sitting on the stage. When he found out that she was an ugly girl, he immediately gave up on purpose and ran away. Fang Shiyu's mother Miao Cuihua (played by Xiao Fangfang) heard that her son had been defeated in the ring, and she felt ashamed, so she transformed into Fang Shiyu's brother Fang Dayu and went to the ring to defeat Li Xiaohuan. Unexpectedly, Lei Hu sent someone to pick up Fang Dayu to get married that night. In order to save his mother, Shiyu had to go to Lei's house to get married in her mother's stead. The mother and son planned to run away together when they were returning home after their wedding. Unexpectedly, Fang Shiyu's father Fang De came back!
