Synopsis of Small Axe
Letitia Wright of "Black Panther" and actor John Boyega of the new "Star Wars" trilogy have joined the BBC drama "Small Axe", which has been purchased by Amazon for the US on-demand rights. The 6-episode series will tell 5 different stories, set in London's West Indian community from the 1960s to the 1980s. The title of the series comes from the Jamaican proverb "If you are the big tree, weare the small maxe." It means that even a weak voice of dissent can still challenge the powerful party. Other actors include Malachi Kirby, Shaun Parkes, Rochenda Sandall, Alex Jennings and Jack Lowden.
