Synopsis of Blood Simple

On a rainy night, Rey (played by John Getz) and Abby (played by Frances McDormand) had an affair in the hotel. Rey is a bartender, and Abby is the wife of the bar owner Maddie (Dan Hedaya). Maddie suspects her wife is cheating on her, so she hires detective Weiss to investigate. Madi was furious after knowing the truth. She sneaked into Rey's house and tried to kidnap his wife, but was injured in the fight. Maddie secretly met with Weiss and decided to spend money to kill them both. Wes sneaks into Rey's house and finds Abby's pistol. After coming back, Weiss showed Madi the photos of the two people who were killed, and shot Madi to death while he was not prepared. Rey discovers Maddie's body and mistakenly believes that Abby did it, so she destroys the body and destroys all traces. In the evening, Rey returned to the bar again and discovered Wes's fake photo. At this time, neither Rey nor Abby knew that the threat of death was approaching... This film is the debut film of the Coen brothers. It was created in 1984 and was shot in 2 months with only 800,000 US dollars. In 2009, producer Zhang Weiping spent US$2 million to purchase the rights to the film and invited Zhang Yimou to film "Three Guns..."
