Synopsis of The Killing

While serving five years in prison, Jonny Corey (Sterling Hayden) came up with a brilliant robbery plan. After he was released from prison, he assembled a group of illegal gangsters and jointly planned to rob the racetrack of a huge sum of two million U.S. dollars, and achieved "no casualties." However, a wise man will make a mistake after thinking a lot. Johnny's seamless plan was implemented smoothly, but was disrupted by his friend George (Elisha Cook Jr.)'s wife Shelly (Marie Windsor). After she learned of her husband's plan, she teamed up with her lover Wall (Vince Edwards) to extend a greedy hand to the huge sum of money... This film is adapted from the novel "Clean Break" by Lionel White. Kubrick served as the screenwriter and invited the famous novelist Jim Thompson to modify the dialogue.
