Synopsis of The Sapphires
The story takes place in the wild year of 1968. A group of four young and talented singers from remote indigenous areas were discovered by an unreliable talent scout. No longer unknown, billed as Australia's The Supremes (a famous American four-piece girl band), "Battlefield Soul" got a rare opportunity of a lifetime: someone gave them a concert that was truly their own ----- -Providing entertainment to the troops in Vietnam. For the girls, a world of sex, war, politics and the soul opens up before them.
