Synopsis of Sinister

Ellison Oswalt (played by Ethan Hawke) was a well-known crime novel writer more than ten years ago. In order to find creative inspiration, he did not hesitate to move into haunted houses where murders had occurred. Today, in order to restore the glory of the past, he once again moved into a haunted house with his wife Tracy (Juliet Rylance) and a pair of children Trive (Michael Hall D'Addario) and Ashley (Clare Foley). While cleaning up the attic, he accidentally discovered a home video, which recorded the happy life moments of the former owner's family and the tragic scene of them being hanged from a tree. In the days that followed, he watched the video over and over again, looking for clues about the criminals, and pursued clues in every corner of the house. In this process, various strange events happened to the family one after another. Ellison can hardly get out at this time...
