Synopsis of Whisky Galore!
Castaway is a 1949 comedy film produced by Ealing Studios, based on the novel by Compton Mackenzie. The film and novel are based on the true story of the 1941 shipwreck of the S.S. Politician near Eriskay Island, in which local residents took whiskey from the ship without permission.
