Synopsis of Five Minutes of Heaven

In 1975, Northern Ireland was suffering and traumatized by violent riots by the Northern Ireland Volunteers against Roman Catholic civilians. The then 17-year-old Little Alistair (Liam Neeson) could not help but join the Volunteers of Northern Ireland in a violent atmosphere. He was a young boy during a violent activity against Roman Catholic civilians. Joe Griffin (James Nesbitt James Nesbitt) brutally killed Joe's brother in front of him. As the riot subsided, Alistair was sentenced to twelve years in prison, but Joe, who witnessed his brother's murder, has always lived under his mother's censure and guilt. More than thirty years later, a television station invited grown-up Alistair and Joe to attend a program recording at the same time, trying to not only restore the truth of the incident through interviews, but also hope for reconciliation between the two. But how will Qiao, who has been suffering from mental torture, face his brother's murderer? And how will Alistair tell Joe the true story of the incident? Will the two reconcile, and how will their lives change?
