Synopsis of 26 Years
In 1980, the Gwangju Incident broke out. Innocent people were regarded as "red elements" and massacred by the military government. Many families experienced the most painful life and death, and the instigator behind all this, Chun Dou-hwan, ascended to the throne of the president. He left office safely a few years later and was pardoned despite being accused of military dictatorship and economic crimes. At the same time, the survivors who have experienced the Gwangju Incident can no longer sit back and watch the greatest injustice in the world. One day in 2006, national shooting team player Shim Mi-jin (played by Han Hye-jin), gangster Kwak Jin-bae who had served in the military, and young policeman Kwon Jong-hyuk were called together. Their relatives were all killed in the massacre 26 years ago. The former soldier who participated in martial law, Kim Jong Se, had hidden huge guilt and hatred in his heart for many years. Now he has become a big businessman and decided to join the family members in assassinating people to this day. Quan Doo-hwan, who is still at large and living a pampered life... This film is adapted from the Korean webcomic of the same name based on the Gwangju Incident.
