Synopsis of Hiroshima mon amour

In 1957, when a French actress (Emmanuel Riva) came to Hiroshima, Japan to shoot a film promoting peace, she met a local construction engineer (Eiji Okada). The two forgot their respective origins for a short period of time. The identity of a husband's wife and a married woman leads to selfless love. However, due to the special nature of Hiroshima, when the two embraced passionately, some cruel scenes about the war would always flash in the actress's mind. Construction engineers often reminded her of her work in the small French town of Nevers during the war. Love with a German occupation soldier.
