Synopsis of Creation

In a picturesque British countryside, naturalist Charles Darwin (Paul Bettany) lived a peaceful life with his wife and daughter. His eldest daughter Anne, who was ten years old, was full of curiosity about the world. Darwin taught her a lot of natural and scientific knowledge, including his theory of evolution. However, at a time when everyone in the world believed that God was the Creator, the theory of evolution spoken by his daughter was undoubtedly dangerous. So much so that she was physically punished by her tutor. Even Darwin's beloved wife Emma (Jennifer Connelly) could not agree with his ideas and research. What hurt Darwin even more was that not long after, little Anne died of illness, and the only source of strength that supported him in completing his theory also dimmed. The work of sorting out the manuscript of "On the Origin of Species" became like a retrograde thorn, and it was difficult... The film is adapted from the biographical novel "Annie's Box" by Randal Keynes, the third-generation great-great-grandson of Darwin.
