Synopsis of The Elite Squad

Known as the most dangerous city in the world - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, shootouts between police and criminals occur from time to time. Villains run rampant, death is commonplace, and police and gangsters even work together to endanger the city. But in this chaotic place, an upright and strict army emerged. The Special Police Operation Battalion makes gangsters frightened by its resolute and ferocious style of handling cases. In 1997, the Pope was about to come here for an inspection, and the top brass asked the elite force led by Nas Simon (Wagner Moura) to eliminate the drug chain in the slums as soon as possible. Nassimon, who was tired of the swordsmanship and bloodshed, focused on his wife and unborn baby. He handed over the task to two passionate and idealistic young people-Neto (Caio Junqueira) and Matthias. (André Ramiro). Both of them are dissatisfied with the corruption of the police force and are determined to show off their skills in the elite force... The film won the Golden Bear Award at the 2008 Berlin International Film Festival.
