Synopsis of The Tenant

The introverted Polish young man Tarkovsky (Roman Polanski) came to Paris alone, hoping to rent an apartment here. The previous tenant of this room, Simon Xiao (played by Romain Bouteille), committed suicide by jumping off the building for unknown reasons. After Simon died in the hospital, Tarkovsky successfully became the new tenant. The move to a new house did not bring him much joy, and the depressive atmosphere around him disturbed his nerves all the time. There are many dull people living in this old apartment. They complain that Tarkovsky makes too much noise and jointly excludes other tenants... Although the poor young man handles it carefully, he is gradually forced into a desperate situation by them. Tarkovsky began to realize the reason for Simon Shaw's suicide. At the same time, he discovered that he was being led to the end of destruction by these strange tenants...
