Synopsis of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
In 1805, Napoleon was rampaging across Europe, and in terms of naval warfare, only the British fleet could rival it. Captain Jack (played by Russell Crowe) of the British army and his warship Surprise were ordered to intercept the French warship Hell as it entered the South Pacific. The two ships met for the first time on the north coast of Brazil. Hell defeated Surprise with its superior firepower and thick armor. Jack relied on thick armor.
