Synopsis of Finding Vivian Maier
The documentary "Finding Vivian Maier" is scheduled to premiere during the Toronto International Film Festival in September. The film reveals her double life: she was talented during her lifetime, but she worked as a nanny in obscurity for 40 years. After her death, she left behind more than 100,000 negatives of Chicago street scenes and street portraits, which were acquired by the film producer John Maloof at an auction in 2007. After being rediscovered, she was recognized by the photography community as one of the greatest photographers of the 20th century.
