Synopsis of Love Me or Leave Me
What kind of man is there behind a successful woman? This film is adapted from a true story and is actually a love story without love. The film depicts the love and hate between famous singer Ruth Etting and her husband and manager, Chicago gang leader. She doesn't love him, but in order to become famous, she accepts his protection and manipulation; but he truly loves her and respects her, helping her develop her career wholeheartedly, and never taking advantage of her. In the end, her dream of becoming a star came true, and she married him to repay her kindness, but the story behind the music seemed to be true. The stage star smiles and laughs at others, but how can the man behind her not be miserable?
