Synopsis of Medea

Jason was the son of King Aeson. Aeson's brother Pelias usurped the throne, and Jason was raised by the centaur Chiron. After growing up, Jason returned to the kingdom and asked his uncle for the throne. The uncle asked him to complete a task - to capture the Golden Fleece. As long as Jason could do it, the uncle would give up the throne. Jason led the Greek heroes all the way to Colchis, where the Golden Fleece was. Medea (Maria Callas) is the daughter of the king of the Colchis city state. She fell in love with Jason, so she stole the Golden Fleece and presented it to Jason. She betrayed her father, killed her brother, and even gave up everything to fly away with Jason and live together in a distant country. However, ten years later, Jason no longer loved Medea, and he abandoned Medea and their two sons in order to marry a princess from another country. Filled with anger and grief, Medea decided to take revenge on Jason. She used witchcraft to kill the king's father and daughter, and also killed her two sons with her own hands...
