# Synopsis of The Postman Always Rings Twice

Tramp Frank Chambers (played by John Garfield) is attracted by the beautiful proprietress Cora Smith (played by Lana Turner) in a small restaurant on the roadside. It happens that the restaurant is recruiting workers, so he stays , become a waiter. Nick, the restaurant owner, was much older than Cora. Seeing an opportunity, Frank teased Cora many times, and the two finally fell in love. The two planned to elope, but halfway through they found that they had no source of income. They returned to the restaurant and decided to murder Nick and create the illusion that Nick had an accident, so that they could obtain Nick's inheritance. The first operation failed by accident. In the second operation, they succeeded in killing Nick, but were discovered by a prosecutor. Cora was taken to court. Under the trick of a lawyer, the two escaped the punishment of the law. But their good days have not come yet... The film is adapted from the work of the same name by American writer James M. Cain.
