Synopsis of Shoot The Pianist
In an obscure tavern in Paris, there is a melancholy and lonely piano accompanist Charlie Kohler (played by Charles Aznavour). His life is simple and monotonous. The enthusiastic tavern maid Lina (Marie Dubois) is fascinated by Charlie's talent and falls in love with him. It turns out that Charlie was once a famous pianist who became anonymous after his wife committed suicide. Lena encourages him to find himself again and take the stage. However, one day, his younger brother Chico Saroyan (Albert Rémy), whom he had not seen for many years, broke into his life while evading the pursuit of his underworld enemies. Charlie helped his younger brother escape from his enemies, but was accidentally involved in this cruel escape of life and death. The god of luck did not favor Lina, who shared life and death with Charlie. During the fierce battle, Lina was unfortunately shot and killed. Charlie once again returned to the tavern of the past, and everything was back to where it started, but things were different. "The Pianist" is a black-and-white film directed by French film master François Truffaut and adapted from the novel by American writer David Goodis.
