Synopsis of The Accused

In an accident, Sarah (Jodie Foster) was raped in a bar. Instead of stopping this horrific violence, the men watching on the sidelines took part in it with gloating. Afterwards, Sarah, who was greatly traumatized both physically and mentally, took these hateful men to court. Unexpectedly, public opinion in turn accused her of debauchery and misconduct. Catherine (Kelly McGillis) is the prosecutor responsible for defending Sarah. As a woman, she has a deeper understanding and sympathy for Sarah's misfortune. The results of the trial were announced. The men who committed the crime were only sentenced to nine months in prison. The law that was originally used to punish rape and eliminate evil ended up being a protective umbrella for criminals. The angry Catherine must not sit idly by. Thanks to the unremitting efforts of Catherine and Sarah, the evildoers finally received the punishment they deserved. Through their actions, the two women restored their courage and dignity as women.
