Synopsis of My Night at Maud's

The film is one of Rohmer's "Six Moral Tales" series. The story tells the story of a 34-year-old Catholic Jean-Louis (played by Jean-Louis Trintignant) who falls in love with a young female college student. He encounters his old friend Vital (Antoine Vitez) and is invited to have dinner at the home of Maude (Françoise Fabian), a divorced woman with a bold personality. At the dinner table, three people with different moral ideas talked about religion, atheism, love, morality, and the life and philosophical works of the philosopher Pascal.
