Synopsis of The Man Who Would Be King

The story takes place in the South Asian subcontinent in the nineteenth century. Danny (Sean Connery) and Billy (Michael Caine) were in no hurry to return to their motherland after completing their military service. They discovered an ancient kingdom, Kafirstan, inhabited by uncivilized natives. Danny and Billy are confident that they will use their ingenuity and advanced technology to convince this group of savages that they are born to rule as kings of the tribe. At first, things were not as simple as the two imagined, but a series of accidents made the natives gradually begin to believe that the seemingly invulnerable Danny was the destined ruler and god of their country. In this way, Danny successfully sat on the throne. The throne of a king, enjoying the love and admiration of his people. The proud Danny planned to marry a local beauty, but unexpectedly this move caused him to encounter a crisis of trust.
