Synopsis of The Inn of the Sixth Happiness

A British maid, Glady (played by Ingrid Bergman), wanted to join a missionary group to preach in China, but was refused admission because of qualification issues. Grady did not give up this idea and came to China via the Siberian Railway to preach and help at the Luk Foo Inn. Lin, an intelligence officer of the Kuomintang, persuaded Ge to return to England, but Ge refused because he was a Chinese citizen. The latter two fell in love, but current events did not allow them to consider it. The missionaries from Xichang brought fifty orphans. Dr. Jamison prepared to use military vehicles to evacuate the orphans to the rear. Ge Bian led a hundred orphans on the road. After climbing mountains and wading through many difficulties and dangers, he finally brought the orphans to Xi'an, completing the mission of ordinary people. regarded as an impossible feat.
