Synopsis of War and Peace

In 1812, Napoleon's armies controlled most of Europe. Among the few unconquered countries, Russia planned to join Austria in a desperate resistance. The noble Prince Andrei (played by Mel Ferrer) is such an ambitious Russian officer. However, Andre's good friend, Duke Pierre (Henry Fonda), did not care about the war. Before his father's death, he became the heir to the inheritance and married the aristocratic daughter Helen (Anita Ekberg), but soon after the marriage, he found that his personality was inconsistent and they separated. After Andre failed in the battle, he was released and returned home to visit his wife who died in childbirth. A few months later, Pierre and Count Rostov's family were going hunting and called Andrei. Andre fell in love at first sight with the count's daughter Natasha (Audrey Hepburn). Soon, Natasha accepted Andrei's proposal, but Andrei soon returned to the army. Helen's brother Anatole took advantage of the situation, deceived Natasha's love, and instigated Natasha to elope with him. When the Russo-French War began, Natasha met Andrei, who was seriously injured...
