Synopsis of Pride

1974, Philadelphia, USA. Jim Ellis, who graduated from college, could not find any job because he was black. Seeing the young children in the slums who had nowhere to go because the public basketball courts were demolished, Jim, who loved swimming, secretly had an idea. With the help of his friend Elston, Jim rented a local abandoned swimming pool and opened a swimming club. Relying on his personal charm and amazing swimming skills, he quickly recruited a group of passionate poor children. However, in this poorest neighborhood in Philadelphia, it is not easy to train a group of mixed beginners into super capable swimmers! There were conflicts within the team, limited training time, and lack of funds. Just when everything was finally on track, the swimming pool was marked for demolition again. However, with a heart that would never give up, Jim resolutely decided to establish the first African American swimming team in history and sign up for them to participate in the Intercontinental Swimming Championships! As the competition draws closer, the wall of racial discrimination once again blocks Jim and his team. However, even in the face of threats to break up the team and resistance from the government, Jim leads the swimming team and overcomes obstacles. They will eventually prove that as long as they try their best, whether in or outside the swimming pool, victory is certain...
