Synopsis of Hamlet

Prince Hamlet of Denmark (Kenneth Branagh) is summoned home to attend his father's funeral and the wedding of his mother and uncle Claudius. His father's sudden death and his mother's remarriage made Hamlet depressed all day long. Once, Hamlet came to the high platform of the castle in the middle of the night, met his father's ghost, and learned that his father had been poisoned by his uncle Claudius. The ghost asks Hamlet to take revenge on the murderer who usurped the throne and occupied the princess. Hamlet, burdened with the mission of revenge, decided to disguise himself by pretending to be crazy in order to spy on Claudius's every move. He then arranged a court scene to dramatize the murder of the king. After seeing it, the uncle's true colors were revealed, but Hamlet accidentally killed his lover (Kate Winslet)'s father, causing his lover to go crazy and die. Then Hamlet's mother also drank poisoned wine and died, and finally Hamlet killed his uncle in anger.
