Synopsis of Glory

During the American Civil War, white officer Robert Gouldshaw (played by Matthew Broderick) was wounded in battle and was buried by a man named John Rollins (played by Morgan Freeman). The person was found and sent to a field hospital. While recuperating in Boston, Robert volunteered to take over the position of commander of the Fifty-fourth Massachusetts Regiment, which was composed entirely of black men.
